La Nave wine from Casa Aurora is an exceptional wine made by Germán Blanco from Quinta Milú. In this project, he is working in the family's native area in Bierzo Alto. For this wine, he buys the grapes from winegrowers who work organically and always with the supervision of Germán. It is a blend of Mencía (85%), Garnacha Tintorera, Palomino, Portuguesa (Trousseau), Garnacha, and Gran Negro from vineyards with an average age of 73 years at about 800-970 meters above sea level. These altitudes ensure that the wine matures slowly and has the necessary acidity to give it structure and balance the muscular tannins that come from these old mountain vineyards. It passes through French barrels and foudres for 13 months before bottling. It is silky and elegant with notes of black and red fruits, blackberry, anise, lavender, thyme and black pepper.
