SW1025-21 Quinta Milú Viñas Viejas 2021
Viñas Viejas wine comes from German's oldest vineyards. It is 100% Tempranillo (Tinto Fino) over 100 years old planted in Clay-Calcareous soils. Like all Germán wines, the harvest is manual with strict selection in the vineyard before harvest. It is “pressed” in a traditional way with the feet so that the fruit does not experience too much pressure that could damage it. It continues with micro-vinification, fermenting different plots in different tanks appropriate for the type of soil from which they come. It is fermented in open oak barrels and then spends a year in French barrels. He only made 1,100 bottles (a little over 500 cases) worldwide. Old vines never produce much, but they are always a gem!
It has notes of dark, ripe fruits - blackberries, plum, black cherry with a touch of black pepper and spices. It has serious structure and concentration and bright, crisp acidity.
Very limited.
